Frequently Asked Questions
Is this therapy?
No. This is not psychotherapy or clinical mental health treatment.
That said, my work is trauma-informed and grounded in psychological training, and many people find it deeply therapeutic. If you are seeking diagnosis, clinical treatment, or crisis support, I can help you find appropriate referrals.
Who is this for?
This work is especially helpful for people who are:
navigating a transition or turning point
feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of direction
questioning identity, purpose, or meaning
wanting more depth, clarity, or authenticity in their life
drawn to reflective, relational, and nature-oriented work
What happens in a session?
Sessions are conversational, reflective, and responsive to what’s true and present for you.
We may talk, reflect, track patterns, explore your story, work with emotions, or use various practices to slow things down and gain clarity. There’s no script and no pressure to perform or “fix” anything.
Do you work with teens or adults?
I primarily work with younger adults, age 18-32. That being said, I have also worked extensively with youth, and occasionally with older adults and elders. If you have any doubts or questions about your fit for my offerings, don't hesitate to reach out! I'm happy to talk.
What’s the difference between video sessions and walking sessions?
Video sessions take place online and are accessible from anywhere.
Walking sessions are in-person (currently offered in the Asheville area), outdoors, and incorporate movement and the natural environment as part of the reflective process. Both have their strengths and limitations. Choose what fits your needs and location.
How often do we meet?
Most people meet weekly or biweekly, but this is flexible. We’ll find a rhythm that feels supportive and sustainable.
How long do people usually work with you?
Some people come for a short period around a specific transition. Others seek ongoing or longer-term support. There's no right or wrong length, as long as the work is serving your depth and well-being.
What does it cost?
In attempts to make individualized support affordable and accessible to people from all walks of life, I offer a sliding scale from $50-150 per session with no questions asked.
What if I don’t know what I want yet?
That’s completely okay. Many people come precisely because they don’t know.
Confusion, uncertainty, and “being in the middle” are great starting points.
